RECYCLE RAMA

The following items were collected at Hampton Township School District’s 2nd annual Recycle Rama:

  • There were over 8 pallets of computers, electronics and TVs that were recycled responsibly by eLoop llc.  Nothing will be placed in a landfill or exported to under developed countries.

  • The Hampton spiritwear, athletic uniforms, sports equipment and dance wear exchange was a huge success! Girl Scout Troop 938 sponsored this program and collected a lot of reusable items that were picked up by other parents. For example there were over 50 pairs of soccer cleats collected. NOTE: There were leftover soccer items that are now at the concession stand. Get them while supplies last!

  • Construction Junction filled up a truck with reusable construction materials.

  • Fitzsimmons Metals collected a large dumpster filled with scrap metal and appliances.

  • We had a pick-up truck full of plastic grocery bags that were collected and 450 reusable bags were given out in return.

  • 26 rechargeable batteries were sent to the RBRC where they will be disposed of so that no hazardous chemicals seep into the ground at landfills. 59 cell phones and 76 ink cartridges were also recycled responsibly.

  • Recycle Rama volunteers helped unload cardboard from vehicles that filled 2 recycling dumpsters.

  • 1 recycling dumpster from Abitibi was filled with paper.

  • Salvation Army left with a large truck filled with clothing and small household items.

  • Hundreds of blankets were collected and already distributed to very happy and grateful Animal Shelters.

  • The Cub Scout Pack 195 and Boy Scout Troop 195 collected 2 pick-up trucks full of used books.

  • The Girl Scouts from Troop 237 collected 43 business suits and 81 other business items that are to be donated to Treasure House and St. Vincent de Paul.

  • Girl Scout Troop 313 has 44 prom/formal dresses that are being donated to an organization that benefits the American Cancer Society.

  • 4 laptops were received for the troops overseas.

Thank You to everyone that brought items and volunteered that day!
